Vintage 1950's Era Hand-Carved Wooden Briar "Monk/Friar W/ Cowl" Tobacco Pipe :Very cool vintage 1950's era hand-carved wooden Briar "Monk/Friar W/ Cowl" tobacco pipe. The item is in good condition for it's age. Made completely of a briar wood type material, it is free of any major imperfections & displays well. Minor flaws are present from age & use in the form of dirt & staining, as well as most noticeably a small chip to middle center of the cowl above his hair, as well as a chip to the bottom portion of the cowl on the right side , but they do not take away from this piece at all. The pipe is beautifully detailed all the way around into the shape of a hooded monk or friar's face & features fine facial detailing including hair & teeth. The top of the pipe shows signs of ware & black staining from use but it only adds to coolness of the piece. The mouth piece stem is made of a black plastic material & features a bent neck design which shows use, & is removable from the pipe. It reads "GBD" in gold print. Note : The stem is most likely not original to the pipe but makes for a nice fit. the Lastly, included is a newer wooden folding stand which makes for a nice display. Altogether makes for a great gift for collectors. Please see pictures for condition issues.Measurements : 3.45 inches in H, 5.75 inches in L, & 1.5 inches in D. Weighs read more
