RARE VINTAGE 1950'S FORD MOTORS PROMO SHAGGY DOG BANK RARE VINTAGE 1950'S FORD MOTORS PROMO SHAGGY DOG BANK This is a great collectible Vintage piece of FORD MOTORS history. Back in the 1950's Ford Motors used this character to Promote t vehicles in commericals. The Ford Dog was a Floppy-eared, shaggy dog that acted as the commercial spokes-dog for the Ford Motor Company back in the 1950s. Designed by animator Adrian Woolery, the Ford Dog drove about the animated commercials in an automobile shaped like the Ford Company logo. The J. Walter Thompson Agency created the campaign back in 1952. The Ford Dog was the first commercial character to inspire merchandising spin-offs, such as this Ford Dog bank. The colors are as bright as the day this piece was made. This would be such a great piece for your collection or as a gift for someone that works for FORD MOTORS. The Ford Dog is a ceramic bank with the coin opening at the top. In the bottom is the opening to remove the coins from. The bottom stopper is missing, but I'm sure that you can figure out something else to use if you want to keep coins in it. After all these years the bank is still in a great condition. T are a few minor chips that you really have to look hard to see, as they are about the size of a pin head. T is one on the bottom that I've shown in one of the pictures,
