Over the next several months, I will be selling vast collections of wonderful vintage antiques which I have lovingly accumulated of over the past 50 years, as I am now downsizing. Vintage kitchen items, Christmas ornaments, clocks, lamps, telephones, art pottery and much, much more will be listed on Ebay. This auction is for one of two wonderful vintage 1950s covered ceramic Lefton cookie jars I will be listing on Ebay. This particular auction is for a beautiful "colorful fruit" cookie jar. Two sides are adorned with grapes and apples and the other two sides have pears and cherries. The lid has cherries and grapes along with a "tree branch" handle, which matches the two on each side of the lower portion. It is trimmed in a lovely deep green. The colors and glazing are second to none. Truly delightful. This item has also retained its original red and gold foil Lefton sticker on the bottom. It measures approximately 8.5" high by 9.0" across, at its widest points. It is not in perfect condition, though, as t two minute (and I mean minute) fleabites on the lower portion's lip, they are not really noticeable when covered, however, they are t just the same. T is also a minute fleabite on one "tree branch handle" and three minute fleabites on the other. Also, some of the purple cold paint on the grapes has flaked off. All of which could easily be touched up, however, I will leave that to the new owner. Otherwise, this cookie jar is clean and beautiful. This cookie jar has been a favorite of mine for over 50 years.
If you are looking for a wonderful cookie jar for your vintage June Cleaver kitchen, look no further. It will definitely help you remember a much simplier time from "days gone by". They sadly just do not make items like this anymore. If you have any additional questions or if you would like to see some additional photos, feel free to email me. I am very amenable to combine shipping, when possible. Paypal, Money Orders and Cashier's Checks only. No international orders please. Thanks for viewing my auction, over the next several months t will be lots and lots more. Maybe you will save me as one of your Favorites.
