This is a Vintage 1950's Thames Dressed Up Couple Egg Cup and Salt & Pepper Shaker Set Made in Japan.Condition: The shakers are in great condition and have no chips, cracks or repairs, with the exception of a chip to the inside rim of the woman egg cup. The bottoms of the egg cups are numbered 52/472 in black lettering and the shakers have rectangular blue paper labels that read Japan in white lettering. Both shakers are complete with their original cork stoppers. The set is in good vintage condition with little paint loss or fading and show no signs of use or wear.Description: The shakers were created by Thames in the 1950's and are in the shape of a well dressed couple with large eggs for heads. The couple have an hourglass shape with outstretched hands. The man is dressed in a black tuxedo jacket with a white shirt and powder blue bow tie, and has on pants with an orange, yellow and black stripe pattern. The woman is wearing a pink dress with a black square pattern and big white collar with black lines. The shakers are in the shape of eggs with faces on them. One of them has the face of a man and has brown parted hair with a thin French mustache. He has wide black eyes with long black eyelashes and an open mouth with thin red lips.
