The stitch regulator lever is used to control the number of stitches per inch and can also be used with the limit screw on the left to back-tack or reverse the direction of feed without removing the work from the machine. The serial number is EH888773, which indicates that this baby was manufactured in 1953 in the Kilbowie factory in Clydebank, Scotland. is a good view of the clean and well lubricated mechanisms underneath the bed. You can see the full vision boobin case that facilitates removal and replacement to the left. To the right of that you can see the screw that serves to drop the feed so you may perform darning and free motion quilting.
Another look "under the hood" to see the excellent condition of the mechanisms. More views of the condition of this classic Singer machine.
