are some examples of the fine stitching this machine is capable of. It runs strongly and smoothly.
A copy of the manual is included in a nice folder to protect it. As it says, the machine performs combined straight and zig zag lock stitching.
The decals are in excellent condition.
The stitch regulator lever is used to control the number of stitches per inch and can also be used with the limit screw on the left to back-tack or reverse the direction of feed without removing the work from the machine. The power cord and control pedal are also in excellent condition. As the manual says, "Perfect control - whether high speed or stitch-by-stich retarding is required, the "pick-up" and "stop" is quick and effortless." From the manual: "Fast, efficient, ever-ready for "on-the-spot" sewing, whether it be to mend a glove, sew on a button, make a dress or a trousseau, a buttonhole or a complete layette, a slip-cover or an embroidered guest towel, a snow-suit or a bridal veil. "
The manual also gives specific details as to what needles and thread to use for each of the varieties of fabrics from taffetas to silk to wool to upholstery fabrics and plastic. is another good view of the condition of the decals on the bed.
The serial number is EH888773, which indicates that this baby was manufactured in 1953 in the Kilbowie factory in Clydebank, Scotland. is a good view of the clean and well lubricated mechanisms underneath the bed. You can see the full vision boobin case that facilitates removal and replacement to the left. To the right of that you can see the screw that serves to drop the feed so you may perform darning and free motion quilting.
Another look "under the hood" to see the excellent condition of the mechanisms. More views of the condition of this classic Singer machine.
