OK, I am back with some more Fox history. Duke Fox introduced his first .19 engine in 1953. It was a "split case" engine which was not very successful (to put it mildly). The next year he discontinued the "split case" .19 and introduced a new .19 which was much better and was also offered in an RC version which had dual needle valves for two speed operation. Then in 1957 he made a number of improvements to the .19, which became the third version of the Fox .19 engine. This is the engine that I am offerring on ebay, the 1957 version. The improverments that it incorporated over the 1954 model included head screw bosses in the case, a pressure tap boss in the backplate which could be drilled out and a pressure fitting installed in order to run on crankcase pressure, a removable suction insert in the venturi that could be removed to get more power when running on pressure, some internal changes to increase the horsepower (which worked very well), reinforcing webs at the front of the crank case, and new type prop driver and prop washer like he used on the combat engine. All of the changes made this a vastly improved engine over previous models. It was so successfull that in 1959 Duke Fox enlarged the dispacement slightly to make a .201 and both engines continued in production.
