Offered here is a very fine old Revell model of the U.S.S. Essex CV-9, vintage 1957. It is completely unbuilt and appears to be complete with instruction sheet and a large sheet of decals. The box is a bit ragged, but it is what it is after 53 years. It's a nice large model in 1/540 scale; measures 19 3/4" along the flight deck. The Essex was first of her class, first commissioned in 1942, had earned the title "The Fightin'est Ship in the U.S. Fleet". She was redesigned with an angled flight deck in the early 1950's. She was eventually decommissioned for the last time in 1969. A gallant lady for sure! This fantastic model has been waiting a long time to be built!!! Why not by you? Please feel free to ask any questions at all. Happy ebaying! Payment by PayPal Please! Please note that the 1957 date is taken from the instruction sheet, the only date available.
