DESCRIPTION: This is an old John Deere toy farm wagon. It was probably made in the late 60’s or early 70’s. On the bottom, it is marked “Made By Ertl Co. U.S.A. Dyersville Iowa”. It is stamped “0083”. It features steerable wheels that roll, an opening tailgate, and side opening door/chute. MATERIALS: Steel wagon sides with die cast metal frame, and vinyl rubber tires on plastic wheels, and plastic rotating bars. DIMENSIONS: Measures about 9-¼ inches long, and about 12-¼ inches including the tongue, and is 1/16 scale. CONDITION: Overall in EXCELLENT CONDITION. It has bright shiny original paint. It has probably never been played with. I do not believe that the doors have ever been moved. There are some scattered paint chips that keep me from calling it mint. Also, one of the plastic rotating bars has a tiny bent prong. This came from an old farm auction where the roof had failed, and many of the toys had been ruined, or badly damaged. The auctioneer told me he had to throw away the original box for this wagon, since it was in such bad shape. At least, it protected the toy from getting damaged. FYI: Our pictures are taken under bright incandescent camera lighting or using a flash that sometimes fades out the colors or makes them appear brighter.
