Up for bid is a large 5' (five feet) in diameter lighted Mobil PEGASUS Sign . Made to mount on a wall, the lens is approximately 3 & 1/2" thick and the frame is another 4" thick, making the unit about 7 & 1/2" overall out from the wall. The lens appears to be plastic, or perhaps Lexan. It has no holes, breaks, or punctures anyw in it; t are very few surface scratches on it. This sign has been stored for a number of years in a Mobil Distributorship/Dealer Warehouse in Thomas, Oklahoma. It was heavily covered in dirt and dust when we got it. It has simply been rinsed off with a hose and a rag. The dark areas around the edge is dirt from inside the lens that is showing through to the outside and needs to be cleaned up. The sign lens hinges at the top and fastens at the bottom. This sign was manufactured by TEXLITE, and is Electric Sign No. 812428. Though this sign has been placed in use, it surely must be in 95% or better conditon. The lens is not brittle or faded as is often true of plastic signs that have been mounted out in the direct sunlight. The sign is backlit by five high intensity fluorescent bulbs, all of which work.

This Pegasus sign belongs to Mr. Kenneth Boyd of Roosevelt, Oklahoma. Mr. Boyd is 78 years old and has lived all of his life on the farm that has been in his family for over 100 years. He has been restoring petroleum products for several years now, having restored approximately 100 gravity-flow gas pumps to date (among other restoration projects). Mr. Boyd would be happy to answer any questions you have about this particular sign, and he is the person to contact. This sign will either need to be picked up in Oklahoma or be shipped by "freight." Do feel free to contact Mr. Boyd and discuss with him the shipping possibilities, and what it would cost to build a crate suitable for shipping this sign and the freight costs. Mr. Boyd will be happy to arrange for a freight company to transport and deliver these to the address you provide (all, understandably, at your expense); the address will have to be that of a business (your business or someone you know), for the freight company does not deliver to residential addresses. The "Buyer" is responsible for all crating, packing, transportation and delivery fees from Roosevelt , OK , 73564 .

It is also to be understood that the buyer assumes all liability associated with freighting (damage to the plastic sign face, bulbs, etc.) . [Though packed well for shipment, out of about 50 visible pumps shipped by freight thus far, only three have received damage, but it can happen, and--we want it to be clear--the buyer assumes the liablity for damage sustained in shipment if he or she chooses to have them shipped.]
