Rare Early Bill Moss Designed Pop Tent

2-3 person tent - Free standing

Moss invented the "pop tent" in the late 1950's, This tent is one of his early designs which Moss originally signed with Thermos to manufacture.

In the 1970's Moss started his own tent company, & quickly became one of the most sought after tents available. His tent designs were compared to "Frank Lloyd Wright" in style.

This tent was manufactured around 1964 by Thermos for Bill Moss, Style model 8117, easy pop up set up, zipper canvas mesh front enclosure, mesh window in rear. "oMs 2" is printed/stamped on outside canvas

Tent is in very great condition for age, shows some normal general use wear & aging, zipper front works well, front enclosure needs some stitching at bottom where pulled away at seam (seen in photos) some small wear holes from being taken in & out of bag, top is chrome (pic 7) which was Moss original design, a pin secures top when popped up. Tent is clean & free of smells

Designed & manufactured in the USA, Today Moss tents are still highly sought after & hard to find. Bill Moss died in 1994 at the age of 71

Comes in original carry bag, Because this is tent is close to 50 yrs old, it was not constructed of lightweight materials used in todays tents, & is quite heavy
