PICTURES (please view them!): /albums/af219/mrlutton83/Kay%20Vanguard/ is what I believe to be a 1965 Kay Vanguard single pickup electric guitar, definitely made in USA. The pickup is a DeArmond Kleenex Box (Barney Kessel) style pickup, to the best of my knowledge, but it is installed underneath the pickguard. These seem to be a little more rare than the older Kay Vanguards, and this one is very cool. Great neck, frets have plenty of life and no problems t One of the tuner bushings and tuner posts have been changed, but the replaced tuner post and bushing fit perfectly, it just does not match the other five. Only other issue I've noticed is that the B string slot on the bridge has chipped away, so a new slot has been carved into the bridge to accommodate. It plays well as is, but a new bridge would make this guitar perfect. I've seen them cheap on eBay. I have pulled out an old case for this guitar. As you can see, it is not in great shape, and has some stains inside it. It also needs cleaned up, as it smells a bit musty/moldy. I can spray it with disinfectant and clean it to the best of my ability before shipping, or you can choose not to have me include this case. I can ship the guitar without a case safely, no doubt. I ship with my guitars packed VERY well, and have never had a shipping incident thus far. All of the information read more
