YOU ARE LOOKING AT A FANTASTIC HANGING OR TABLE OIL RAIN LAMP, FROM THE 60'S.

MANUFACTURED BY JOHNSON INDUSTRIES.

RAIN LAMPS WERE INVENTED BY THE LATE Darrell H. Johnson (1-6-06), WHO FOUNDED JOHNSON ENTERPRISES, ALSO KNOWN AS JOHNSON INDUSTIRES. IN 1957, DARRELL JOHNSON FORMED JOHNSON INDUSTRIES IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, A COMPANY THAT MANUFACTURED RAIN LAMPS. BASIN IS MADE OF SOME TYPE OF METAL (NOT EXACTLY SURE OF KIND). INSIDE, STANDS A LOVELY HALF NUDE GREECIAN GODDESS, AWAITING THE RAIN. T ARE 18 HOLES IN THE TOP AND BOTTOM, WITH ALL OF THE CURTAIN STRINGS STILL PROPERLY ATTACHED WHICH ALLOW FOR PROPER OIL FLOW DOWN THE CURTAIN. INSIDE THE TOP OF THE BASIN ARE TWO LABELS. ONE IS A CAUTION LABEL WHICH READS "CAUTION: BECAUSE OF FIRE HAZARDS, USE ONLY 60 WATT BULB OR LESS. LAMP RATED 1 AMP., 120 VOLT, 60 HERTZ JOHNSON INDUSTRIES." THE SECOND LABEL READS "JOHNSON INDUSTRIES SERIAL NUMBER 14376" WHEN THE LAMP IS FILLED WITH MINERAL OIL (CAN BE PURCHASED ONLINE, OR EVEN AT WAL-MART) AND TURNED ON, THE OIL CASCADES DOWN THE THE STRINGS, OR CURTAIN, TO FORM A LOVELY REPLICA OF A LIGHT SLOW RAIN SURROUNDING THE GODDESS.
