This is a panel of John Piper's famous - and rare - "Northern Cathedral" fabric which was designed for Sandersons and produced in the 1960s. This is a satinised "Sanderlin" cotton - with a good weight and a lovely sheen. This piece measures 53cm in length and 113cm in width. This is one full pattern repeat in the length. This piece was reclaimed from a curtain and the full width (around 128cm) has not been kept. The colours in the second photo are not true - the first photo is more like reality. In very good condition, there are no marks and the colours are vibrant and strong. Not obvious that there is any fading at all. A classic. Many of my fabrics are vintage and several are reclaimed. I always describe my fabrics carefully – particularly if they are reclaimed – and I would never sell anything of a quality that I would not use. Even if a fabric is described as 'new' (ie unused) there may be the odd storage mark or fold mark that escapes my notice. I am the world’s worst photographer and read more
