Otherwise nothing in the listing has changed.Vintage 1962 Brownface Fender Tremolux Guitar Amplifier.Head and matching cabinet with matching Victoria cloth covers and Tremolo Footswitch..Operating condition - Excellent. Everything works! Sounds great!! The tremolo is to die for!!!Cosmetic condition - Good.Electronics and hardware are a mix of original and non-original parts, details below.I am thinning out my personal stock, and (reluctantly) this one has to go. I'm keeping my other brownface tremolux which sounds like this one, but is cosmetically almost perfect.Here are some details for you vintage Fender Amp enthusiasts. This system is definitely a players amp, not a 100% original collector's item. It has a mixtureof original and (high quality) non-original parts. The circuit is a 6G9A which is not that common in a Tremolux with two 10" speakers, most of the 1962'shad the 6G9B circuit. This amp has a great sound, like a brownface tremolux, of course!It is clean up to a good-and-loud 5 on the volume knob of both channels. Above 5 there is a moderate amount of (good) distortionbut even with the volume at 10, the sound is more clean than distorted. The "normal" channel is quiet up to about 6 and has a small amount ofhum at 10. The "bright" channel has a small amount of hum at about6 and a distinct hum at 10. The hum is not a problem for stage playingup to about 6-7 in both channels. The "bright" channel is brighter (gee!)but the normal channel can be plenty bright by adjusting the trebleand bass knobs. All four inputs work well. All the controls work well, including the speed and intensity of the tremolo. The tremolohas a wonderful, vintage brownface sound. I play surf-rock instrumentalswith clean tone and an outboard reverb unit and this amp is just aboutperfect for that. Un-mic'd in a club with 100 people I don't need to turn it up above 5, which is really quite loud.Some information for vintage Fender amp enthusiasts:Tubechart stamp "LA", Chassis serial number 00959 (January, 1962).Choke transformer 606146 (Schumacher, November, 1961)Output transformer is custom built by John Cerniak in the 1990's. 4 ohms.Power transformer is model 125P6A/68409, probably original but has no source/date stamp.Large caps under the metal cover are all blue Sprague Atoms, replaced during the late1990's refurbish.Looks like three (orange) caps on the main circuit board have been replaced, presumablyduring the late 1990's refurbish.The tubes are (right to left)12AX7A/7025 "Fender" "USA"12AX7A "USA"12AX7A/ECC83 "KD RCA" "Gr Britain"12AX7A/7025 " 013341" "Fender" "USA"6L6GC "Svetlana Electron Devices Inc Made in Russia 9842"6L6GC "Svetlana Electron Devices Inc Made in Russia 9842"5AR4 "Sovtek Made in Russia 0011"The speakers are Fender/Oxford 10K5's manufactured in 1963. I took these originalsout of my 1964 Fender Concert (when I put Jensens in there) and put two of them inthis Tremolux cab. Each speaker is 8ohms and they are wired in parallel to produce a 4 ohm impedance.The cabinets are original and rock solid. The baffle board on which the speakers are mounted is non-original. (a previous owner had put two 12" speakers in this cab). Also the back cover on the head is non-original, and is covered in blond (not white) Tolex.The tolex is original.
