This is a vintage Harley-Davidson half shell helmet, from around early 1962. This is a hand-laid fiberglass shell. This helmet came from a large estate sale, purchased from the gentleman's widow. He was the original owner. From my research, this is a very rare helmet. I also believe it was used by the motorcycle police back in the 60's Also comes with a just as rare bubble contoured face shield. The shield has a single line crack at one of the snaps, The logo HARLEY-DAVIDSON is embossed on the back of the helmet ,on the leather..

The condition of the helmet is great overall, with a few age-related signs of wear. The inner foam is deteriorating and needs to be replaced if you plan to wear/use the helmet. THe exterior shell has small scratches and nicks that are conducive to age. All snaps work and are in great shape as well as the buckles. The leather has no tears on the chin straps, however, the interior leather lining will need to be restitched after replacing of foam. I have conditioned the leather to make it more supple.
