Vintage 1966 Gillette Slim Adjustable 1-9 TTO DE Safety Razor L1Up for sale is this nice Gillette Slim Adjustable 1-9 TTO DE safety razor with date code L1. The TTO, (twist to open) turns smoothly, not real loose. The doors open and close smoothly. The doors close tightly with the extra quarter turn or so to lock the razor blade firmly in place, with no rattle. Even blade gap on both sides. We put a razor blade in the razor and adjusted the dial 1-9, the blade gap looks even across to us in each position. The dial The blade adjusters move smoothly, up and down. This safety razor is in nice mechanical working condition. Nice plating, shinny, semi reflective head.We see no major issues with the head, bar guides or bar guide plate. The plating looks nice, some tiny scratches & dull spots to finish on doors, tiny scratches on bar guide plate inside & dull spots to finish. The two center extensions on the bar guide plate have identical brass spots, this looks like a factory plating issue, see photo 12. Under neath the bar guides there are some small plate thinning spots and small brass spots. The end caps have minor scratches and micro pits.The dial has nice plating, all the numbers have their paint, minor micro scratches.The handle works fine, nice knurling. We see no major plate issues, one very small thin spot on bottom edge of TTO
