VINTAGE 1970's Black Wrap Grecian Party Dress 8 10 12 Search This is a killer party dress straight from the 1970's. It looks gorgeous in jet black with a wrap style body, crossover back straps and tie at the waist. The care label is missing but the fabric is a slightly stretchy jersey, it's made of 100% polyester. There is no size label, I'd estimate it as a size 10 but it is stretchy and I think it would do for up to a 12, and it looks great on our mannequin which is a size 8 too as the waist tie means you can tighten it at the waist - please make sure you check the measurements to see if it is suitable for you. The measurements of the dress are as follows- across the waist - 16" across the hips - 25" loose fitting length from waistband to hem - 29" The dress is original vintage and therefore some signs of wear are to be expected, but it is in generally excellent condition with no damage or flaws to note . INFORMATION ON SIZING - We always provide the label size and the measurements - label sizes vary greatly from brand to brand so while you may take one size in one label, in another brand you may require a larger or smaller size, so don't rely on label sizes alone. Also, vintage sizing tends to be a lot smaller than today's sizes, so you will probably take at least one or two sizes bigger. On our listing titles we give the size that the garment would be by today's standards - you can see the sizing chart we use on our 'About Me' page. The measurements provided are taken with the garment lying flat on the floor, fastened. They are the actual measurements of the garment and not the measurements of the person it will fit. You need to double across the body measurements to compare to your own, e.g. if a garment has a 22" armpit to armpit measurement, this means that the coat has a 44" chest, and will be a suitable fit for someone with around a 38"-40" chest - you need to allow a little room for movement, comfort and other layers. If you like a baggy fit, you need to allow more space, so bear this in mind when selecting a garment (and vice versa if you want a tight fit).
