Vintage 1970s Solid 9 Carat Gold Large Rectangular Amethyst Ring This ring is a gorgeous piece of vintage jewellery dating from 1970s England. It is made out of solid 9 carat gold and set with a vibrantly coloured rectangular amethyst. The amethyst measures approx. 13mm x 11mm. It is well faceted and is a rich lavender purple tone. The head of the ring is decorated with rope work detailing. The ring weighs 4.5g in total. It is currently UK size N (USA size 6 1/2), which could easily be altered to a larger or smaller size by any jeweller. It is hallmarked inside as 9 carat gold with a hallmark dating from 1972 from Birmingham, England.
