Vintage 19th CENTURY, frame, measuring 25 5/8" x 29 5/8" x 2 1/2" overall , with a rabbet of 16" x 20" . The frame is in reasonable condition considering it's age. Looking at the frame straight on, the finish appears to be reasonably original and good; the outside perimeter of the frame was painted with gold paint a long time ago. The liner is bright silver leaf while the remainder of frame is gold with the high points are finished in what appears to be genuine gold leaf. The liner can be made to match the gold frame by spraying a tinted varnish on it until it reaches a reasonable match. In most cases, this is how the original frames were finished - tinted varnish over silver leaf. Please study the images carefully and ask questions prior to bidding. The frame needs TLC but is well worth the effort, as this style frame is difficult to find, especially in this size.
