BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE SQUARE GOLD GILT CARVED WOODEN FRAME âe" circa 1940 âe" 1950âe(tm)s with a round opening containing RAPHAELâe(tm)S MADONNA. Outside measurements of the frame are 26 inches by 26 inches. The diameter of the opening is 19 1⁄4 inches. The opening is surrounded by the original gold gilt wood, part of the frame, which has an incised design into the wood. T is some slight crackle in the round area w a little of the wood shows through. This is really only visible close-up âe" see photos to show details. The finish is original âe" donâe(tm)t know whether or not you would consider this gold leaf âe" t are no lap lines that I can see. The color of the gold tone frame is pretty uniform âe" my pictures look uneven from the camera glare. The frame has a soft gold feel to it âe" it is my bad photography that makes it look more harsh and uneven than it is. Remember, this is not a mat board surrounding the print âe" it is carved wood, part of the original framing. No glass âe" never had glass. The print is made on thick cardboard to look like a painting. T are 1 or 2 very light scratch marks on the print, hardly visible, on the outside edge, away from the figures.
