This is a gorgeous vintage set of James Kent English porcelain in the chintz pattern "Primula." It includes service for four: 4 large plate, 4 small plates, 4 bowls, 4 saucers, 4 cups, plus a teapot, sugar and creamer. Dimensions: Large plate - 8 7/8" in diameter; small plate - 6 3/8" in diameter; bowl - 6 1/4" in diameter; saucer - 5 5/8" in diameter; cup - 3 1/2" in diameter and 2 1/2" tall; teapot - 8" from spout to handle and 5 1/2" tall; sugar bowl - 5 1/2" ear-to-ear and 5" to top of lid; creamer - 5 1/2" from lip to ear and 2 7/8" tall. All pieces are edged in bold and the pattern is one of violets and yellow pansies. Because of age t is some crazing and a couple of pieces have small raised pottery bits in the bottom that occurred during firing. Each piece is marked James Kent Ltd., London, Made in England, "Primula." The background of this set is that it's from the estate of a woman who died at 90 and never discarded anything. Many of her items will be on my site -- gardenmarty. She was especially fond of this china.
