This is an antique ladies lap writing desk. It is painted black and has a lovely dogwood and green leaves decoupaged across the top. Some of the floral treament has given up to age. It measures 12"x 9.5"x 4.5". It is wooden and and has purple velvet embossed lining on the interior. It has a storage area for pens and inkwell, plus a flip down area to store documents or stationary. When I got home I discovered it had several pen nibs in the interior with a small box. It has a small brass lock on the front, but no key. This is a vintage piece and as such is not perfect, but makes a lovely aged statement. Nothing like the good old days!
