Vintage 40's J. Chein Tin Wind Up Cathedral Toy Plays! Search Antique 1930's/40's J . Chein Tin Lithograph Wind-Up Cathedral Still Plays!! For your viewing pleasure we have a real treat. Up for bid is an antique 1930's/40's J. Chein Tin Lithograph Wind-Up Cathedral . This piece of early American toy manufacturing is in very good shape. T is minimal amounts of rust - especially considering the age - (see photos), very limited dents, dings or "boo-boos" and the lithograph is still very clear, very colorful and very detailed. Whoever owned this previously took very good care of it (certainly wasn't one of my kids!!) The hand crank works - but will probably need some oil or lubricant - and the piece STILL PLAYS !!. I have no idea what it is playing… but it plays! Just in time for a special Easter gift! Make someone's year by giving them a piece of vintage A me ri ca na. The piece measures approximately 9 1/4 inches tall at very center and 7 1/4" across at it's widest part. The piece is about 5" inches deep and has a 2" metal crank with wooden knob handle. The bottom is marked in the CLASSIC J. Chein Shield the following: J. Chein & Co. Made in U.S.A. Don't let this one get away! They are few and far between and very collectible!
