Vintage 46 drawer Spool Cabinet - Great Collectors Cabinet This spool cabinet could make a perfect housing for collectors of coins, knives, stamps, marbles, fossils, fishing tackleâe¦ âe¦anything that is less than 1.5âe in width. The cabinet measures: 31âe wide X 19âe deep X 71âe tall T are 46 Drawers and 2 Doors Each outside drawer overall measure: 13 5/8âe X 17 X 1 ¾âe on the inside they each measure: 12 ¾âe X 15âe X 1 ½âe They are each fronted with glass and 8 sample rows: 1 ½âe X 1 ½âe X 1 ½âe behind these 8 sample rows is a length of 15âe to the back of the drawer. Thatâe(tm)s 368 rows of storage Of the 46 drawers, t are 2 pieces of glass that are missing and 3 others that are broken. T are also 7 handles missing. Inside measurements of the 2 cabinet doors: 14 X 13 X 16.25d Overall t is some damage on a few places of the veneer: Top right front has a peel, base looks like some water damage, but no peel, Front left door at the top corner and left side top rear corner. The Industrial RevolutionSkipton boomed during the Industrial Revolution , as it lay on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal , between the major cities of Leeds and Liverpool . Many mills sprung up, including Belle Vue Mills - Built 1828 by John Dewhurst , Belle Vue Mills on Broughton Road in Skipton was built and opened as a spinning and weaving mill, but burned down two years later, and was immediately rebuilt, this time as a cotton mill. Don't know how many looms t were to start with, but in 1852 an extension was added to allow another 385 looms to be housed. In 1870 a further extension was added. In 1882 Dewhurst's had a floor area of 20,000 square yards spread over 5 storeys, and employed over 800 workers. In 1886 electric lighting was installed.
