What I have for sale is a beautiful silver tea set made by Poole Silver Company. I got this wonderful set at an estate sale in central Illinois. Now I am no expert on these types of items and the information that I have on them I researched on the internet. The Poole Silver Company was founded in Taunton, Mass. in 1893. Originally called Poole and Roche, Roche was bought out by Poole. Poole remained the sole owner of the company until his death. His sons continued in the business until they retired in 1946, at that time they sold the business to an investment group. The Towle Manufacturing Company was the group that purchased the company. That is about all I know about the history of the company. Now the tea set is marked EPC Old English by Poole 5000. As I said earlier it consists of 5 pieces, a creamer measuring 4" high & 6" from spout to handle. The sugar is approx 6 1/2 " high with the lid on & about 7 1/2 " from handle to handle. Tea pot measures approx to the top of the finial 9 1/4 ". Now the Coffee Pot measures just under 10" to the top of its finial, as close as I can see. Lastly the tray measures 25 1/4" from handle to handle & is 16" from top to bottom, and is 2 inches high. All of the serving pieces are marked, the tray is the only piece that is not marked Old English by Poole 5000 EPC, in fact it is not marked at all. So I can not swear it is the same pattern, but it looks the same to me. The tray also is the only piece that I can see any damage, and it does have a some very small pit marks. Nothing real major, but they are t and should be mentioned. Now if the winning bidder chooses not to take the tray because of this it is going to be their option. The rest of the pieces are in really good condition, other than needed to be polished. That I am not going to do, I am selling them as I bought them. They actually display pretty good the way they are and would enhance anyones decor with their quiet beauty. If you have any questions, by all means email. If you do, please do so no later than 24 hours prior to auction end. Remembering that these pieces are silverplate and tfore have some weight to them, espeically the tray, ( it is quite heavy ). Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and that will include a $1.00 handling fee and a delivery confirmation. All items are wrapped in bubble wrap and surrounded in packing peanuts for a safe and secure transit. However I will not guarantee nor will I be responsible for any items once they leave my hands. Insurance will be an additional charge and at the buyers request. Payment is to be recieved within 7 - 10 days of auction end. These are the forms of payment that I will accept, Paypal, cashiers checks, personal checks, and money orders. If you are planning on paying with Paypal, you must have a CONFIRMED ADDRESS, if you do not have a confirmed address you must use one of the other methods of payment. Paypal get immediate shipment. Cashiers checks along with money orders also get immediate shipment. Personal checks must wait for bank clearance.
