Totally FABULOUS aerodynamic, jet-streamlined (or bomb-shaped, depends on your view) ice bucket - straight from the space-obsessed 40s and 50s to the future (what - you say YOUR bar isn't already in orbit?!) In pretty good condition, considering what kind of life this fast-forward item must have led, what with getting knocked over a time or two or forty, and enduring over half a century of swabbing! Two-tone (gold and silver) aluminum, (9" to the top rim, in the stand; 8" across the outside of the rim) the lining unscrews at the bottom so that it can be given a thorough cleaning (no mildew allowed). The bomb-shaped bottom sits in a separate period bakelite tripod stand, and the lid is flat with a small bakelite knob. Impressive in your bar, an aluminum collection, or just as a reminder of the reasons we learned to duck and cover daily, at school in the fifties!
