The items included in this auction came from the estate of a Korean war era veteran. The jacket was brought back in the early 1950's as a memento of the time he spent stationed in Japan. The photo album chronicles the experience of this soldier, from training in the US to serving in Japan. A Domain Of The Golden Dragon Certificate is also included in this lot. Details of these three items are listed below: Quilted Jacket : Considering it's age, the jacket is in fantastic condition. The only problem I could find is a split seam under the left arm w the side seam and sleeve come together. Other than that, the jacket is in like-new condition - t he colors are still vibrant; the embroidery is nice and tight, with no broken stitching; the zipper works properly; the knit cuffs, and waist band are very nice. The jacket is free of stains or pulls. It looks like it was never worn. Due to the location of the split seam, the jacket could easily be displayed without fixing it; or the split seam could easily be repaired and the jacket could be worn if desired. The jacket measures 21 inches across the chest so it's around a size 42. This is the first quilted satin tour jacket I've seen. This jacket appears to have been made for a cold weather climate. Photo Album: The album contains 174 black and white photos. It includes photos of training at Fort Lenoard Wood & Fort Sill; ship board photos of soldiers being transported to Japan; and pictures of life at Camp Drake & Misawa Air base in Japan. About 30% of the photographs have the date and place of the picture noted on the back, so the subjects of the photos can be identified. The album is loaded with interesting photos of military vehicles, artillery, and street scenes of Japan in the early 1950's. The album is in great condition and is of nice quality. The front is lacquered wood with a mother of pearl inlay. The pages are all separated with tissue so the photos are all in great shape. The photos are held in place with paper corners so they can be removed without damaging them. Domain Of The Golden Dragon Certificate : The certificate is glued to the inside front cover of the photo album. It commerates the crossing of the international date line on 12/18/1952. The certificate is in very nice condition - all of the lettering is crisp and clear, and the colors are nice and bright. This is a great collection! A must have for a military collector. These jackets are difficult to find in this nice of condition. Please send me an email if you have specific questions regarding these items. I accept PayPal, money orders, and certified checks. Payment must be received within 10 days of auction closing. Shipping to the lower 48 stated will be $18.95. International shipments priced by country of destination.
