1950's Red Taffeta Full Circle Skirt Party Dress

This is a smashing genuine vintage 50's cap sleeved fitted bodice red party dress with a 360 degree full circle skirt. The contours of the bodice and the skirt are ingenously made by tiers of fabric sewn together with black glittery piping in beween the tiers. The workmanship of the dress is intricate and beautifully crafted. It closes on the side with a metal zipper. Measurements for the dress follow.

Bust...40" Across the shoulders...18.5" Waist...29" Hips...free" Length (from the shoulder to the the waist) 16" Length from waist to hem...32.5" The hem is turned with bias tape

Condition : The dress is in very good vintage condition without rips, stains or odors. T is a 1 1/2" repair of the bottom right dart near the waist and another 1"on the non zipper side near the waist w the fabric had strained against the seam. The zipper functions. The underarms are very slightly light on the turn of the interfacing and t is a stictch or two reinforcing the fabric at the stress point of the bend of the armhole.
