This apears to be a new, old stock, 48 Star Presentation American Flag. There are no stains and the double cotton, moth proofed fabric is sound with no pulled threads, holes or tatters expected from a flag that has flown. As indicated in the listing, it's 3' X 6" X 6' 8" in size. The stars are all stitched individually, not printed. The grommets appear to be zinc, but again, show no signs of ever being displayed. The Dettra Company that manufactured this Bulldog Bunting flag, produced 48 star American flags from about 1912 until, as stated above, 1959. Dettra was later bought out by the Annin Company .. Own a piece of history! 48 Stars was standard until the admission of Hawaii and Alaska... Alaska became a state on January 3, 1959; and Hawaii was admitted on August 21, 1959. One side effect of this was that the U.S. only had a 49-star flag for one year: from July 4, 1959 until July 3, 1960. The condition of this flag indicates it was one of the last 48 Star models produced... Questions? Please ask...
