Large size and harder to find 1960's Nativity Set of Eight. Excellent detail. This circa 1960's Nativity set is stamped "Made in Japan" on the base of each figure. It consists of 8 large size figurines which include the Three Wise Men/Kings (Melchor, Gaspar, and Balthazar), Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, Shepherd Boy and a Donkey. The tallest of the Three Kings measures 9 1/2", Mary measures 7" while Infant Jesus measures 4". All figurines are in very good condition. To be more accurate The Three Wise Mean are in very good condition with no chips or wearing of paint except for the Wise man who is kneeling which has a speck of paint chipped from the tip of his nose. Infant Jesus in creche and Joseph are also free of any damage. Mary has a chip on the white scarf covering her head and a few chips along the edge of the base which can easily be painted over. Shepherd boy with sheep over his shoulder has a tiny paint chip on the red cape. Donkey has a paint chip on its left ear very easily repaired with a speck of paint. Overall condition: VG with brilliant colors. No fading. They have been stored in a smoke-free home in a plastic container for many years. No musty odours.
