Being offered for auction is a Vintage 60's Peter Max " LOVE " Plate. His artwork is featured on a piece of " Iroquois " china. The plate measures approximately 10 inches in diameter. Is marked G ENUINE - CHINA BY IROQUOIS - S YRACUSE , N. Y. on the back of the plate(please refer to photos). The plate features his famous psychedelic "LOVE" graphics and has his "peter max" trademark logo at the bottom edge of the graphics(again, refer to photos). Peter Max is a German born, Jewish American, illustrator and graphic artist. His work was first identified as having been a popular part of the counter culture and psychedelic movements in graphic design during the late 60's and early 70's. His collective works serves as a timeline to what has happened across the country and around the globe, having captured major and global events in arts, sports, technology and the humanities. His artistry has adorned clocks for General Electric, book covers for Mead, airplanes, postage stamps, and personal art for six presidents and countless others. Peter Max currently resides in New York City with his wife, Mary Max. The Iroquois China Company was founded in July of 1905 and operated in Syracuse, New York until 1969.
