Vintage Philips "Bi-Ampli" 4-band FM/AM tube(valve) radio B5X42A 10 tubes - 2 speakers - Bi Ampli Stereo - fully tested - great sound ==> SCROLL DOWN for BIG pictures! <== Make and Model Philips, B5X42A, made in Holland, 1964-'65 Description and Features Beautiful vintage radio; walnut veneered wooden cabinet with perforated steel loudspeaker grilles. Large, illuminated station dial with separate pointers for AM and FM ranges. LW/MW/SW/FM bands. FM frequency range 87.5-104 Mhz. Ten tubes: ECC85, ECH81, EF89, EBF89, EM80, EAA91, ECC83, 2x EL84, EZ81. Tape and Phono inputs (stereo!), connectors for external loudspeakers (800 Ohms). Push button controls (top right): low, middle, high, expanded stereo, mono/stereo. Balance control thumb wheel. Built in ferroceptor for AM reception, connectors for external FM and AM antennas. 'Magic eye' fluorescent tuning indicator. This deluxe radio was a quite expensive model in its day. It has two separate audio amplifiers ("Bi-Ampli") and two 800 Ohms Philips AD3700AM double cone loudspeakers for true stereo reproduction of grammophone records and tapes (tape input could also be used to hook up a CD player, MP3 player, minidisk etc.). There is no FM stereo decoder, so radio reception is 2-channel mono (pseudo stereo). Mains voltage selectable 110-127-145-160-180-220-240 Volts AC. Item Condition read more
