In the 1950s and 60s, the Swiss Army introduced a green and white flecked camouflage pattern, produced only in packs and field gear. It was called Swiss "pepper" camo, and today any Swiss pepper camo is a rare and difficult item to encounter. The Swiss idea of deterence was for every adult male to keep a uniform, arms, and web gear in his home as part of a citizen Army, and since the Swiss considered every trooper to be a mountain trooper, their standard backpack was a mountain rucksack. This Vintage 1960s Swiss Pepper Camo Mountain Rucksack Pack is in very good condition, with a broken left main pocket strap, and some crossed out writing on the back of the pack. It is complete with all of the other original leather straps and metal hardware, all fully functional. A fine example of the rare Swiss 1960s Pepper Camo Mountain Rucksack pack.
