Matchlessantiques is offering smiths and collectors this "COLUMBIAN" Bench Vise. They just don't make vises like this one anymore. This is absolute fantastic vise. This vise was made in Cleveland, OH. by The Columbian Hardware Company, which was believed to have been established around the early1890s. The Company was advertised to be the world's largest maker of Vises and Anvils. In May of 1926, the company incorporated and became the Columbian Vise & Manufacturing Company. Because this vise is marked "The COLUMBIAN VISE & MFG. CO. CLEVELAND, OH." It is also marked "CAT NO. 204 1/2". It can be determined by the name that this vise was made after 1926.

NOTE : The Cart and Tools are NOT INCLUDED in this auction.

This vise is in excellent working condition. The vise tightens and releases smoothly. The jaws have deep crosshatching that really grip tight. This vise will take the kind of punishment that would send most vises to the scrap pile. The quick release swivel base works easily and securely.

The measurement of this vise are: overall length 17 1/2", overall width 11 7/8" (including mounting tabs), height 13 1/4", jaw width 4 1/2", weight 61 lb. This vise would be excellent in any shop. Don't miss this chance to own a classic. Lower 48 states s/h/i is only $40.00
