Vintage, but still new, Howard Johnson's Waitress Uniform This is a vintage item from the 70's or late 60's. It is not a reproduction. It was never worn and still retains the original tag. Perhaps someone had second thoughts about working at HoJo's? The uniform is a delightful peach color, done in 100% polyester for easy care. It is labelled as "Career Styles" by Best Manufacturing. The tag still contains two extra buttons in a small plastic bag. The front is an orange plaid and peach, with the same contrasting trim at the edge of the collar and at the edges of the sleeve. The uniform zips up the back. The tag is really quite amusing and on the back, gives helpful tips on how to keep your uniform looking new. "Take pride in your appearance," it urges. "Respect your new uniform--be beautiful!" It also reccomends WISK for grease stain removal, hand or machine washing in warm water, not to wring the uniform, and that you use a click style retractable ball point pen to avoid ink stains. The uniform is labelled as a size 8, ladies, if you are interested in wearing it.
