This little guy has led a charmed life. No little girl has combed his hair or removed his clothes and he would be in pristine condition if time (75 years) hadn't taken its toll on the inner elastic holding all the parts tight. He has never been played with. He is made from composition and painted with Gofun, which is a paint made from crushed Oyster shells. Often they used many layers of this paint resulting in a smooth, creamy complexion any of us would envy. His silk kimono is hand-sewn and colors are as bright as the day he was shipped to America. The term, Ichimatsu is used by the Japanese to describe dolls of children, made in the correct proportions. The hand-painted features are delightful, eyebrows & eyelashes and the little rosebud mouth are just right, calling attention to the beautiful brown glass eyes. He is just over 11 inches tall. You could have him professionally restrung, but I wouldn't be surprised to find a video on U-tube telling you just how to do it. All you need is some strong round elastic and a long button or shoe button hook. We ship only to US LOCATIONS. Thanks for looking.
