This is the ORIGINAL ABU Garcia Cardinal 4 spinning reel (84-0), NOT a C-4 or later model. I am the original owner, and I believe I bought it about 1990. I used it extensively to fish for steelhead and salmon in Michigan's Upper Penninsula stream mouths and rivers, and it served me well. It has a number of graphite parts, making it lighter than the Zebco Cardinal 4 which it replaced. It is in excellent mechanical condition with a STRONG bail spring. It comes complete with its original box, spare spool, instruction/owner's manual, and the schematic/parts list. As a result of use, there is some paint loss on the stem, foot, handle, and bail, which you may be able to see in the photos. There is NO corrosion or pitting. It has been stored, in the box, for about 15 years. Although it belongs in a collection (and I am not a collector), it is in excellent working condition and would make a fine fishing tool.
