This is an auction for ,A vintage(almost antique)clock I bought at a local Thrift store,it is 14" (face is 12")electric clock,made by, "The Standard Electric Time Company",Springfield Mass.,has cool Roman Numerals,metal frame,original paint ,the motor and all in the back is cool looking and very old,but clean ,no cord,Im not sure if it works,sold as is,I looked up this clock company,the clock dates ,1921 to 1930 for this style of clock,the clock is 9lbs and has the original hanger on the back,the face is covered with glass,this is an old clock,the paint is the original mustard yellow from the time period ......This clock company invented the electric clock...I looked up the advertising, it is for Massy-Harris Tractors 1884... Only 6 years after Edison invented the electric light Charles Warner had an idea he could make clock hands move by an electromagnet. He fashioned a crude model, connected it to a battery and they DID move -- he had invented the ELECTRIC CLOCK! Next he fitted some contacts to an ordinary pendulum clock making a master clock to impulse the other and THE ELECTRIC CLOCK SYSTEM WAS BORN! Warner called his enterprise THE STANDARD ELECTRIC TIME CO...
