For sale is probably the newest and possibly the first guide book dedicated solely to vintage spice containers. This project started out as an effort to showcase the best 100 United States spice containers. We soon discovered that we couldn't narrow it down to 100 and so the book was refined to showcase what we consider to be the "Best of The Best" U.S. spice containers. There are over 500 full color photos of about 400 different brands. Of these, 117 are considered to be the "Best of The Best". The book is a standard 8.5" x 11" format with 150 heavy weight (100#) pages and a heavy cardboard cover. However it is printed horizontally because we feel this best portrays the subject matter. There are many company histories and narrative for most featured containers and brands. All containers have been assigned a range of value. (i.e. $100-$200). This guide book will be like none you have ever seen before and unless you are the most advanced of all advertising collectors, it will feature containers that you have most likely never even heard of. Only a handful of the almost 400 different brands would be considered common containers and were included solely to make some type of point.
