ANTIQUE VINTAGE QUILT TOP This is a piece of a quilt top that measures approximately 72" X 72" It is completely hand pieced with hand stitching. This would make a fabulous finished quilt! This African American Quilt comes from Georgia or Alabama. It was owned by the late Richard & Fannye Glover. Mrs Fannye T. Glover just recently passed away. Dr. Glover lived in Tuskegee and had family in Atlanta, They were a wealthy black family with the original family coming from back east. The quilt top is thin and can easily be hung as artwork. This quilt top is in good condition. It looks like this item has been a family heirloom passed down through several generations. If you purchase this item and request them, I would be glad to give you a few of the old photos in the trunk with the quilt. Some of the pictures are over 100 years old. Mrs. Glover was in her nineties when she passed away, so it makes me believe these quilts are really old... What really matters is that these quilt tops find a home w someone will appreciate it. My grandmother who is 82 says her mother used to quilt just like this (in this style.) THEY ARE HANDSTITCHED. She definitely believes these look like pieces she saw saw made Pre- World War 1. (PLEASE NOTE HOW MAY STARS ARE ON THE FLAG IN THE PICTURE. THIS HELPS TO DATE HOW OLD THIS QUILT REALLY IS.) Please remember if you purchase this item and appreciate the history, please ask me and I will enclose some old pictures from the same trunk the quilts were in. Thanks and happy bidding!!
