This beautiful carving was commissioned by a missionary about 50 years ago in Africa . He is in a nursing home in Miami now, and has asked us to auction it to help the Carmelites with their earthquake rebuilding efforts in Peru . This carving is made from a tree limb of a cocobola tree, and it weighs 3.5 pounds. It is a nice size sculpture as it is 9 inches tall with a base diameter of 4 inches. We are told that it was entirely carved by hand, by an artist who died 30 years ago in one of the many revolutions that plagues Africa today; he left a wonderful piece of art behind...
