we go......I cannot decide exactly what this lovely little carved plum is made of. I believe it to be from the late 40's early 50's due to the estate I purchased it from. It is either alabaster, quartz, onyx or amethyst? and the leaves are also some sort of stone in a dark green. This lovely purple "stone" plum has layers of the stone which shows different color variations as does...say...a large chunk of polished amethyst and sometime so does onyx or the others, quartz and alabaster. So I hope by the photo, you can decide. I have included one photo with a flash which is solely t so you can really see the layers, not for actual appearance. It is a pretty, plump, pleasing, purple plum.... The leaves are dark green, acutally...they appear to me to be marble...Whew, this is exhausting...they are attached to the stem with wire that is tightly covered with little green thread. Really a quality piece. On the underside of one stem, is a little tag from when it was purchased that says: 9012, $24.00. This plum weighs just over 1/2 pound and measures 2 1/2" long (just the plum) and longer with the stem. This is a very fine detailed piece, lovely to display, you will be very happy to have it for your collection.....
