I'm selling a Vintage Aladdin Art Deco Lamp. It is primarily made of an alacite glass that Aladdin developed in the 1930's. The colors are ivory & emerald green. It features embossed figures of a very sensuous man & woman. She seems to be dressed in a nightgown & he appears to be clad in a robe. The figures are on 2 sides of the Lamp which is square in shape. They are surrounded by beautiful emerald green glass. The base is ivory alacite with 2 prominent gold colored bands circling it. The Lamp has a green & gold plaid square shaped shade which is trimmed with 2 gold brocade bands at the top & the bottom. The Lamp features an ivory alacite finial which Aladdin called a "Plume". If you look closely at the picture of the "Plume" finial you will see 2 transparent glass beads, & a very narrow ridge of transparent glass around the top of the finial which is also seen in the picture. These features are more prominent when the Lamp is lit. The Lamp has a normal 3 way socket switch, unlike some of these lamps which feature an interior light. However, in the picture I placed a single candle bulb inside the Lamp to illuminate it from the bottom. This bottom bulb illuminates the white ivory & the figures only; the emerald green is not transparent. The Lamp & the Finial are both in near pristine condition without any chips or cracks.
