Aladdin Model 12 4-Post Hanging or Table Oil (Kerosene) Lamp (Sometimes called the Model 1214) - with Original 616s Grist Mill Shade and Aladdin chimney This absolutely gorgeous vintage lamp is COMPLETE and ORIGINAL !! All the parts are - even the ellusive smoke bell! and in VERY good working, never altered, condition! circa early 1900's. The post assembly attaches securely to the base with a twist-and-lock action, and has a button release. Each of the upright posts has decorative, raised detail, which continues on the top piece. T are four height adjustments on the posts for the shade. The wick is split woven. I believe this is called a center draught type burner. The 616S Shade is a glass, hand decorated, country grist mill scene and is very fragile. Finding one intact with no cracks or breaks is rare! This one does have some damage to the top rim (see picture) but you don't see this at all when the lamp is assembled and 3 of the securing screws catch completely. The main portion of the shade is free of cracks or breaks, as is the clear skirt! I have seen these described as reverse painted ... to me, it seems the painting is on the outside. Either way - it's stunning! The chimney is signed Aladdin. The lamp has been completely disassembled, cleaned, lightly buffed and reassembled. T is some wear and discoloration to the plating. Still VERY nice indeed! The font is intact. No cracks or holes. T are some dents and dings. The burner is fully functional. Overall height: 23 inches. Shade diameter at bottom: 12 1/2" I've seen similar, incomplete models selling elsew on the internet for $800 - $950!! Please note: Shipping costs reflect professional crating to ensure the fragile, irreplaceable shade arrives intact! (Please do note that some screws which hold the post assembly together and one to secure the shade are replacements.
