Outstanding walrus ivory EAGLE EATING FISH
Size: 4 1/4" tall, 3" wide, 2" deep .
You are bidding on a Vintage Alaskan Eskimo walrus ivory eagle eating a fish on a very healthy piece of whale baleen. On the back of the eagle t are some dark spots in the denti, a repaired broken leg and some minor glue showing and t, some small bebris on the right wing. Please look carefully at the pictures. Over all this is a stunning piece of walrus ivory art work. This piece is wonderfully finished to a nice medium polish and set to have just the right look of nature as you can see the this is a great action still of the eagle capturing the fish and devouring it. The artist was sensitive enough to notice and create the gentleness and respected distinctions of this piece when finished. This carving was done very well with subtle curves and nice smooth shapes to accent the body of this great piece.
