We are listing a group of highly collectable, finely crafted miniature cupboards and chests from the studio line of Alfred Assid. These pieces are all over 30 years old with dust and superficial signs of age, use and wear. Please see our auctions for more examples from this line. This collector’s cupboard measures 24” tall (27” with top ring) x 19” wide x 4 1/2” deep with an interior space of 22 ½” x 17 1/2” x 3 1/4” and plate-grooved shelves spaced at 7 ½” and 6 ¾”. The piece is crafted of pine with sophisticated distressed original finish and fine brass hardware and boasts an oversize decorative “watch loop” of solid brass on top. The door has divided muntins over a single sheet of glass. The hangers are sturdy and it is ready for use with a bit of cleaning.
