This auction is for an adorable all composition Peggy Walker by The Paris Doll Company in 1940. She is not marked as none of the Peggys were. She is 28" tall and the circumference of her head without her wig is 15". Her composition has been repaired with apoxie sculpt, sanded and air-brushed with several coats of oil based paint (as the original dolls were painted w/oil based paint) so she has no cracks, crazing etc.. Stored properly, she should last for another 70+ years! She has all her fingers and toes. Her crier does work when you lean her forward and then back. When you stand behind Peggy holding her arms and walk forward, she walks with you. As you can see from the pics, she holds a pose very well but she doesn't sit. This is due to the way her walking mechanism is made. Peggy has her original blue/green eyes with all of the thick brush lashes. She has multi-stroke brows, painted lower lashes, four top teeth and a felt tongue. Peggy's original wig wasn't salvageable so she's wearing a replacement. I have not glued it on in case new owner wants to change it. Her features have been duplicated as close as possible (for me) to the original ones. I take no artistic license with the brows, lashes etc. as I'm not an artist - just a restorer. Peggy is wearing a sweet vintage dress in the 1940's style with what could have been her original
