Hello, up for auction is a rare highly sought after vintage Altec model 1650 active equalizer. It has 27 frequencies of which to choose from and separate Hi pas and Lo pass filters. The unit also includes the very rare and desirable Altec 15356A line transformer for plug and play use. This model is highly regarded as the finest multiband room and instrument eq with the possible exception of vintage Eckmiller active models. This model has become very sought after due to its use on many new top albums by producers for such artists as Christina Aguilera, the White Stripes, Sigur Ros, Franz Ferdinand, John Mayer and many others. For getting rid of troublesome frequencies of an otherwise perfect sound, the 1650 is an invaluable tool while adding its own beautiful character to the source. So many top records today are utilizing the 1650 for the magical and musical texture and huge bottom end warmth it imparts to the original signal. The unit is in excellent condition and all band function properly, as well as the hi and lo filters. The 3 prong power cord has been removed and can easily be replaced. The Altec still has the often missing and very hard to find original front swivel mounting arms.
