Vintage American Flyer 20525 Defender Freight Train Set For auction is a lot 23 American Flyer 20525 Defender Freight "S" gauge train set manfactured by A.C. Gilbert Co. This set was one of the classic sets manufactured in 1959. It was a marketing response to the surging interest in space and national defense. The Defender set featured the colorful 21234 Chesapeake & Ohio GP-7 locomotive. The loco measures approx. 10-1/2" x 2". It is marked: "C & O ~ 234 ~ Chesapeake & Ohio ~ C and O." It is in good condition with light soiling and minor scratches with finish wear and surface oxidation on the rails. A USM -37 Division yellow box car that measures approx. 8" x 2". Included with the box car are 2 silver toned cans. This car is in very good condition with light soiling and minor finish wear. A 24549 Erie floodlight car with silver lamp housing and yellow generator. It measures approx. 9" x 2". The car is marked: "Erie ~ 24549." It is in good condition with minor wear. A 25045 rocket launcher car that measures approx. 9" x 2". It is marked: "37th ~ Rocket Launcher ~ Div." The car is in good condition with light soiling and minor wear. A 24557 Jeep transport car with 2 Tootsie Toy jeeps. The car measures approx. 9" x 2". The jeeps measure approx. 3-3/4" x 1-1/2". The transport car and jeeps are in good condition with light soiling and minor finish wear. An American Flyer Lines caboose. The caboose measures approx. 6" x 2". It is marked: "24631 ~ American Flyer Lines ~ Radio Equipped." The caboose is in good condition with light soiling, minor surface oxidation, and finish wear. An American Flyer 50 watt transformer. The transformer has light soiling. We are not sure if the transformer works. Also included with the set are 4) 10" straight track pieces, 2) 10" curved track pieces, 5) short curved track pieces, and 1) 5" short straight track pieces. The track has some surface oxidation and soiling. Boxes are not included. We are not dealers or collectors and are unsure of the scale or gauge, (we believe that this set is S gauge) so please refer to the pics for details. The items have not been tested or cleaned and will be sold as is. International Buyers Please Note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. We ship within 3 business days of received or cleared payment, and we do ship every business day. Actual shipping costs plus actual packaging materials cost are included in shipping charge. Please see shipping calculator for s/h charges PRIOR to bidding. Please note that USPS had rate increases effective January and May, 2009.
