ORIGINAL 1960 GILBERT AMERICAN FLYER S-GAUGE 20605 "THE ARROW" CATALOGED TRAIN SET - COMPLETE IN ORIGINAL BOX AND INSERTS A RARE opportunity to own a an original American Flyer train set 50 years old in its original packaging. Not a group of pieces that were brought together to form a set, but the original train and accessories, cardboard inserts and box that was sold together 50 years ago. 19"x19"x4". I have graded the set at C-8, like new with marks from handling, since set shows no signs of use except for minimal scratches on the wheels, showing the the engine was run or at least factory tested. All of the cars show no signs of use. Sharp, bright colors. The 24066 Louisville & Nashville boxcar was only made in 1960 and is alone valued over $300. Knuckle couplers. The transformer also shows no sign of use or scratches. The original cardboard inserts are intact and in excellent condition. There are marks where the train was taken from the box and other minor blemishes. There is a "11 x 18" color illustrated flap depicting the train with American Flyer the arrow across the top. There are slight tears on graphics. The flap folds down into the box. The box is in excellent condition. The box is 100% complete, straight clean sides with no tears or holes. There are 3 stains inside the top cover. The cover has slight stains and tape had peeled off small pieces of graphics. Also included is a price list and a dealer locator. The instructions are missing. Great investment that will grow! Contents include: 21105 4-4-2 Atlantic Steam engine and tender . Features operating headlight, smoke and choo-choo sound, and 2-position reverse.
